TableTap Privacy Policy
TableTap has a narrow single purpose: extracting table data from the active page at your request and preparing it for spreadsheet use.
What data TableTap accesses
Table data is read from the active page only after you open the popup and act. It remains on your device for copy, download, or export, and is never sent to a server.
What TableTap stores locally
- Pro license status
- The Polar license activation id
- The last license validation timestamp
- Your export clean-up preferences
If you enter a license key, it is stored locally/synced by Chrome storage. This is the only personally identifiable information TableTap may store.
What TableTap does not do
- Does not collect browsing history
- Does not send page content or table data off your device
- Does not use analytics or tracking
- Does not sell or share your data
- Does not run in the background on every site: it only accesses the active tab after you click the toolbar button
Network requests
The only network requests TableTap makes are license activation, validation, and deactivation requests to https://api.polar.sh/*, containing your license key and the TableTap activation label.
Permissions
- activeTab: access only the current tab after you click the toolbar button.
- scripting: inject the table-detection/highlight script into the active tab only after user action.
- storage: store Pro license status, instance id, validation timestamp, and clean-up preferences.
- clipboardWrite: used only for the explicit Copy for Excel/Sheets and Copy CSV actions.
- Host permission (api.polar.sh): used only to activate, validate, and deactivate Pro license keys.
